Eduard Lalo Spanish Symphony for Violin and Orchestra op.21;
Sabin Drăgoi Rustic entertainment;
Two emblematic works for the repertoire of classical, Romanian and universal music, Rustic Entertainment by Sabin Drăgoi and Spanish Symphony by Eduard Lalo, can be heard in the symphonic concert on Thursday evening, December 2, 2021, from 19.00, an event dedicated to the National Day of Romania.
Sabin Drăgoi’s rustic entertainment, the score that created a Romanian fashion after its appearance and which was awarded the George Enescu Composition Prize in 1928, is thus prefaced by one of the great violin titles of the 19th century, the Spanish Symphony by Eduard Lalo, a score that in turn inaugurates in Western music a series of masterpieces, inspired by the folk genre and folk song.
The guests of the symphony orchestra are conductor Florin Totan and violinist Anna Savkina (Russia), a constant collaborator of the Philharmonic in recent seasons, winner of numerous international awards, including Louis Spohr (Germany), David Oistrach (Russia), Heino Eller (Estonia) and Andrea Postacchini (Italy).
