Rigoletto, one of the greatest successes of Giuseppe Verdi’s career, the show that marked in 1851 the beginning of the composer’s rise on the opera stages of Italy, opens the 2021-2022 season of the Philharmonic.

Scheduled at 19.00, on the evenings of Thursday, October 7, 2021 and Friday, October 8, 2021, the abbreviated version of the famous Verdi score, in the center of which is the figure of the tragic jester Rigoletto, is made under the musical direction of conductor Hermann Szabolcs, the directorial concept being signed by Nicolae Mihai Brânzeu.

Composed of invited soloists, but also of lyrical artists of the academic choir, the cast confirms in the main roles Kendi Ludovic (Rigoletto), Vámosi Katalin (Gilda) and Yanis Benabdallah (Duke of Mantua), the gallery of Verdi characters being completed by David Buzgău ( Count of Monterone / Sparafucile), Silvia Sorina Munteanu (Maddalena), Mihai Prelipcian (Count of Ceprano), Lucia Aioanei (Giovanna), Ioan Moțiu (Borsa), Mircea Petcu (Marullo) and Andrei Ormanji (Usher).

The symphony orchestra and the academic choir conducted by Robert Daniel Rădoiaș invite you, therefore, to a new meeting with OPERA, with the Verdi genius, with some of the most famous numbers ever written: La donna è mobile, the libertine aria of the Duke of Mantua, Caro nome , the vulnerable and emotional score of Gilda, Cortigiani, vil razza dannata, the dramatic and accusing aria of Rigoletto or Bella figlia dell ‘amore, the most famous quartet in the entire history of the opera.
