Concert prefiguring the 2nd Advent Sunday

Scheduled on the evening before the second Advent Sunday and Saint Nicholas Day, the recital carried on by members of the academic choir of the Philharmonic invite you to a special encounter with religious music from the past centuries, announcing titles and artists which are never absent from the musical ambiance of December.

Arias, duets or ensembles from the great Christmas oratoriums and cantatas by Johann Sebatian Bach or Camille Saint Saens, famous pieces dedicated to other reference events from the religious calendar: Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi or Mesias by Georg Friedrich Händel, the universal Panis Angelicus by Cesar Franck, Agnus Dei by Georges Bizet and Ave Maria, the prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary, as represented in the versions signed by Franz Schubert and Giuseppe Verdi. Saturday’s thematic programme, set to take place in the Ferdinand Hall from Arad City Hall, is a truly remarkable one.

Accompanied by Adriana Dogariu at the piano, the pieces will be interpreted by sopranos Florica Iacob Burduleanu, Mirela Cusursuz and Diana Birta, messozoprano Simona Zaharia, tenor Ioan Moţiu and baritoneDavid Buzgău.
