Conductor – Dorin Frandeş
Solist – Cadmiel Boţac
Programme
Bedrich Smetana – Vltava a symphonic poem
Edvard Grieg – Concerto for piano and orchestra in minor op.16
Josef Haydn – Symphony no. 94 in the big soil Surprise
The protagonists of the concert of June 14, 2018, are conductor Dorin Frandeş (a musician with over three decades activity on the stage of the Arad Philharmonic) and young pianist Cadmiel Boţac (one of the most brilliant musicians of his generation). It will be a two-generation meeting, in which the impetuousness of the solo’s youth will be carefully guided by the experimental wand, with a classical allusion to the conductor.
The proposed repertoire is attractive, the first part of the series being dedicated to Romanticism (Bedrich Smetana, Edward Grieg) and the second part of the Viennese Classicism by Jeseph Haydn.
Bedrich Smetana, Poemul Symphonic Vltava
The work, of a glorious Slavic romanticism, “paint” the painting flow, from springs to spills, of the national river of Bohemia, being the most famous opus of the 19th century Czech National School.
Edward Grieg, Piano Concerto in Minor
It is one of the most beloved pages of piano literature, being the symbolic work of the Norwegian National School represented by Edward Grieg. It is worth noting that the most valuable interpretation of this Concert so far is due to a Romanian pianist, the famous Dinu Lipatti, George Enescu’s close friend.
Joseph Haydn, Symphony no. 94 “Surprise”
Almost all of Haydn’s Symphonies have a subtitle, but in the case of the opposite no. This seems the most appropriate. An agreement in a sudden force, reinforced by the blow of the eardrum, seems to want to arouse the audience who listens to a quiet melody in the piano. The effect usually causes smiles and makes us think with reverence and sympathy for the great master of a serene and balanced music that, like, greets us bald for centuries, “pope” Haydn.
Portrait Cadmiel Boţac
