Live the joy of the Holidays, at our Christmas concerts!
“We are getting ready for the most beautiful Holidays of the year and, as usual, the artists of the Philharmonic invite you to our Christmas concerts. There will be two magical evenings, dedicated to all those willing to celebrate through joy and beauty, to all those who impatiently await the holy Tidings lighting our way.” – dr. Alin Văcean, manager of Arad Philharmonic.
The symphonic orchestra conducted by Dorin Frandeş, together with the academic choir conducted by Robert Daniel Rădoiaş, will surely meet the public’s expectations on the evenings of 17th and 18th of December, through a programme which combines, in orchestral or vocal symphonic versions, universal Christmas songs.
“Adeste fideles” – the latin hymn of Christmas, the medieval “Deck the halls” or the titles gathered from the traditions of the XIXth century – “O Tannenbaum” and “Silent Night”, are listed in the preferences of worldwide musical audiences. This year’s repertory will also include songs such as “We Three Kings of Orient” or “The first Noel”, but also more modern songs as “White Christmas”, Irving Berlin’s successful creation dating back to 1942, “Jingle Bells” and the dynamic “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, which traditionally closes the “collection” of Christmas songs, leaving space for the universal New Year’s greetings.
Our special guest, panpipes artist Nick Tacu, has also contributed to the selection of our musical programme. His proposals combine traditional Holiday hymns and musical tales from the past centuries, imprinting the effects of the panpies onto the dashing texture of a festive evening.
